The detail is in the devil

I decided to build a scale model of the Targa Florio road race.

    One that worked.

So you could race the cars.

    In 1/32nd scale.

    Naturally I wanted authenticity.

    The track is large.

    This is a small section.

Set in Sicily in the early seventies.

I wanted the cars to be accurate.

    The buildings to be authentic.

The landscape to be typically Sicilian.

    The trees to be correct.

The posters, road signs, telegraph poles to be right.

And the people lining the street to be from the right period.

Most of it is scratch built.

    Because detail is important.

    Detail is everything.

    It is my passion.

It can make life devilishly hard.

    For everyone.

But it also makes life compelling.

    1. Love the chic capri pants and flats on the girl model. Makes one feel as if they are right in middle of the scene listening to the conversation between those on the balcany above. Wonderful and creative!
