“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” – Proverb
.
We live in a stressful world
Where everything is demanded now
No time to stop
The phone rings
Email dings
Messages buzz
Texts nag
Stop the noises!
And it is gnawing at us
.
“And the turtles, of course…all the turtles are free, as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be.” – Dr. Seuss, Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories
.
Yesterday the passion gnawed right through the ropes
And freed us.
It was a beautiful day
Perfect for some play
An adventure
A walk through the local woods
The Great Eastern Pingo Trail
.
.
Ancient ice age holes filled with water
And mud
Mud is good for play
Perhaps you will reveal your true identity
Down in the swamp
Away from work
So go on
Laugh, giggle, titter, lol, rofl (actually that could get you very muddy)
Whatever you call play
Have at it
.
.
Then return home
Invigorated
And ready to tackle the stress
Head on
.

“How well I know with what burning intensity you live. You have experienced many lives already, including several you have shared with me- full rich lives from birth to death, and you just have to have these rest periods in between.” – Anaïs Nin

I’m tempted to leave work right now and find a trail in the woods. Excellent post, I am definitely going to play this weekend!
