Sunshine on a Plate

.

I don’t know who

invented

breakfast in bed

and whether they realised

that they were creating

a wish

for others to have

and to long to come true

but

there is nothing quite like

having your loved one

bring you

a china plate

filled with flavours

desired

offering the gift

of sunshine

at the start of your day

.

“Just living is not enough,” said the butterfly, “one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower.”
― Hans Christian Andersen
