There comes in the end a sort of quietness

.

It’s snowing today where we live

it’s the kind of snow which doesn’t stick

it comes in a flurry then melts away in hurry

it reminded me of a time years ago when it did stick

and each flurry of frozen cloud tears added more soft blankets upon soft blankets

and at the end there came a sort of quietness

.

β€œI hope no one who reads this book has been quite as miserable as Susan and Lucy were that night; but if you have been – if you’ve been up all night and cried till you have no more tears left in you – you will know that there comes in the end a sort of quietness.”
― C.S. Lewis, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe
